The painting "Harvesters" was painted with oil paints on canvas stretched on a subframe in 2015 by Krasimira Staleva, based on memories from the stories of her grandparents, and is signed KAC15. Its dimensions are 52 cm/20.47 inches high and 62 cm/24.41 inches wide.
This painting tells about the wheat harvest at the beginning of the last century. The tired expressions on the faces of the men and women testify to their exhaustion from heavy manual labor. Under the hot midday sun, despite the scorching rays and the heat, the hardworking reapers do not stop working.
The women skilfully reap with sickles, and the men gather and bind the sheaves. Then they carefully arrange them into pieces.
In the foreground, under an upright, tightly tied bundle, attention is drawn to a pitcher of water and a pot of yogurt, left cool under its shade.
